Small scale fisheries landing in the marine protected area of Torre Guaceto (Italy)

THALASSA was entrusted by the CoNISMa (on FEAMP funds) to analyse data relating to small scale fisheries landings through photo-sampling. We analysed the landings inside and outside the marine protected area (MPA) of Torre Guaceto, South of Italy, for a total number of 200 fishing operations. Also, THALASSA was responsible for the compilation of the fishing database including catch data and information on fishing operation and we also contributed to the drafting of the final report on the identification of fishing effort in the Torre Guaceto MPA.

We applied in this project the same methodology developed and standardized within the European project FisMPABlue2, where we previously performed a similar activity.
